Rooted in Awareness: How Wellness Begins Within

Please introduce yourself. Tell us who you are and what lights you up in the wellness space.
Hello darlings! My name is Brittany Orsini!! I am a Mom of two little girls. I am imperfect but always showing up as my favorite version of the ever evolving me. Wellness is fascinating to me! I love seeing how the mind, body and spirit work together to create systems both within us and in larger systems around us. How science and spirituality in fact work to prove one another.

What is your mission within the modern wellness movement, and how do you hope to inspire others through your work?
My mission is to spread inspiration and awareness in everyday practical ways to see real change in your life. I am a firm believer in tough love, though I still work on being on the receiving end of that at times. Hehe

I specifically hope to help children learn a diverse skill base in nervous system regulation. To help them grow up with an understanding of how they can authentically understand, take care of and love themselves.
How did your personal wellness journey begin? What experiences shaped your path toward intentional living?
My wellness journey has a multifaceted beginning much like myself. From teaching swim lessons, to running a summer camp, babysitting, teaching and being a mother. I have always had a passion for leading children. And after my own life experiences put me in a space where my attention span, executive functioning abilities and intelligence were directly affected, it got me curious. Through experimenting and self learning about nutrition, psychology, neuroscience and inevitability nervous system regulation. This put me on a mission because I knew my daughters, my oldest specifically was experiencing the same thing, so if I figured it out for me, I couldn’t help her too. And now years later, I’m in a position to start sharing my experiences as I continue to learn, to hopefully help others learn as well!

What are you most passionate about when it comes to holistic wellness—whether that’s food, movement, environment, or mindset—and how do those passions fuel your purpose?
When it comes to specific interests in wellness, it’s neuroscience and the nervous system that get me excited! These systems are the basis for which everything else operates. And while it doesn’t always feel easy, knowing that through self awareness, a replacement behavior and self discipline you can create entirely new systems which could change how your body itself functions. (If you add spirituality talk to that, I’m in full blown rambling mode lol)
I realize that after using these techniques with both myself and my daughters, the results are not immediate but they are real. Talking about my passions, not as an expert but as a woman and mother who lived through it and continues to work through it now.
What core values or beliefs guide your daily life and work?
We have only two ‘rules’ in our home – be responsible and show love. Sometimes we overcomplicate things I think when really it’s simple. Being accountable isn’t always easy, but it’s empowering. Having self discipline isn’t always fun, but you’ll never love yourself more. A person’s character is the most valuable thing about them. You’re going to mess up, might as well be having fun when you do! And most importantly, as I tell my girls, share your magic!

How do you see the different elements of wellness—body, mind, community, and planet—interacting to create true balance and vitality?
For these elements to work together to create true vitality for self and community, they must have the understanding that balance is flowing. Sometimes we, (I’m talking about myself) get stuck on ‘figuring it out’. As if there is some exact formulaic equation to give you a percentage of how much each part should take up in your life. Haha I have found that balance on a large scale, comes from first focusing on your own mind and body. When you are putting out a positive vibration, the right connections happen, the right opportunities fall into place. The more people that do this, the more quickly and significantly you’ll see positive change in the world around us.
What is one mindset shift or daily practice you’d share with someone beginning their own wellness journey?
Focus on all of the things that bring you joy in your day for 24 hours. Be as corny as possible about it!! Show joy, gratitude and excitement about every little thing positive that happens. It is the quickest way to start reprogramming your brain to expect good things in your life. It will be easier to start making other mindset shifts after that!
How can we inspire and empower the next generation to pursue wellness in a more connected, sustainable way? What role do community gatherings and events like this play in that vision?
I believe we empower the next generation to pursue wellness through play and through intertwining it with everyday life moments. We put them at the center of their world and teach them how to become responsible for it. By doing this with community, children learn in two methods. One is through adults demonstrating these skills to children and in front of children. The second is by children practicing these skills in adult monitored settings with other children through play. Children can learn the peace and confidence that comes from a centered mind and grounded body.

Brittany reminds us that wellness isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence, responsibility, and love. Whether through mindful parenting, nervous system awareness, or simply finding joy in the everyday, she shows that small, intentional steps can create powerful, lasting change. Her message is clear: start where you are, listen to your body, and share your magic with the world.
