Get to know the minds behind the movement.
Name: Jordan Tyson
Where are you from?
Mifflinburg, PA
Tell us a little about your professional background.
I earned my B.S. in Accounting from Pennsylvania College of Technology. After graduating, I began my career at Gehman Accounting, where I obtained my Enrolled Agent (EA) license. In my current role as a Staff Accountant, I work with individuals and small businesses to prepare and file tax returns, and deliver support to my team throughout the process.

What is your passion?
My passion is grounded in my faith, exercise, and learning.
What morals and values do you live your life by?
Biblical values and morals. Some that are the most important to me are compassion, love, peace, and looking out for the fellow man. One phrase that could sum this up is, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
What is a quote that speaks to you?
“Fast success builds ego; slow success builds character.” – Ratan Tata

When you leave a room, what do you want people to say about you?
Someone who shows up with purpose, leads with humility, and cares.
What is a belief you once held strongly that you’ve since changed your mind about — and what changed it?
I must do it all on my own.
Growing up independently, I thought that doing it all on my own was the only way to get the job done. However, working with others, I realized that progress is best achieved through partnership, community, and trust. I value collaboration, delegation, and experienced support.
What do you love the most about Lancaster?
The Christian presence, family, and food. Everything seems to be done with quality in mind here. I also got to shout out the BAL league in Johnny Besecker’s backyard-best league I have ever played in.

What does a perfect day in Lancaster County look like to you?
A perfect day in Lanc to me is waking up going to breakfast at Gracie’s on Main St., then church, going to get some food for lunch in the city (Cabalar most likely), spending the afternoon with family by the pool, and ending the day by playing my favorite sport, basketball, in the Lancaster BAL league. Any other day other than Sunday ends the night at Fox Meadows for some mint choc-chip ice cream.
I see the phrase next generation of Lancaster as a group of like-minded people that value investing in the future through mentoring, networking, giving people opportunities to serve each other in community. I also see it as a place where people can actively “pass the torch”. We have an education piece in all our events that people can take home with them, giving them a steppingstone towards their purpose.
