Next Generation Leadership Series: Reese Lapp

Get to know the minds behind the movement.

Name:

Reese Lapp

Where are you from?

Lancaster, PA

Tell us a little about your professional background.

I earned my B.S. in Business Administration with minors in Sales and Psychology from High Point University. After graduating in 2023, I began my career at Brubaker Inc. as a Remodel Project Manager, which gave me a strong foundation in project coordination and customer service. I now work for my family’s business, Lapp Electric, as the Marketing & Sales Support Associate. In this role, I focus on marketing initiatives, internal communication, and community outreach while proudly representing the third generation in our company’s legacy.

What is your passion?

I’m passionate about my family and friends. It is so important to surround yourself with people who inspire, support, and challenge you. I also value health and fitness, not just physically but as a way to stay balanced and energized in all areas of life. I’m someone who’s always looking to grow, both personally and professionally and I believe there’s always something new to learn or improve on.

What morals and values do you live your life by?

I live my life guided by integrity, kindness, and gratitude. Being honest and true to my word is essential to me, both personally and professionally. I believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion, no matter the situation. Gratitude helps me stay grounded and appreciate the people and opportunities around me. These values shape how I approach challenges, relationships, and growth every day.

What is a quote that speaks to you?

“You are the only one who gets to decide what you will be remembered for.” – Taylor Swift.
This quote reminds me that we each have the power to shape our own story. It’s a reminder to live with intention, lead with purpose, and stay true to who you are because how you treat people and what you stand for is what truly lasts.

When you leave a room, what do you want people to say about you?

I want people to feel that I brought genuine energy and made them feel seen and valued. That I listened more than I spoke, asked thoughtful questions, and contributed in a way that moved things forward.

What’s a belief you once held strongly that you’ve since changed your mind about — and what changed it?

I used to believe that asking for help was a sign of weakness. Over time, especially through working on team projects and in leadership roles, I realized that reaching out and collaborating is actually a strength. It not only builds trust but also brings new ideas and perspectives that lead to better outcomes. This change came from seeing firsthand how much stronger and more innovative a team can be when everyone supports each other.

What do you love the most about Lancaster?

The sense of community. Lancaster is full of people who care deeply, show up for one another, and take pride in where they’re from. There’s a perfect blend of small-town heart and big-picture thinking.

What does a perfect day in Lancaster County look like to you?

A perfect day in Lancaster starts with a hot yoga class at Universal Athletic Club with a few friends. After that, I’d swing by Latte Luv for a vanilla iced latte (my go-to) to recharge and fuel up for the day with my sister and nephews. Then it’s off to East Lampeter Park for a peaceful trail walk with my boyfriend and his dog, one of our favorite ways to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. On the way back, we’d stop at the Country Side Road Stand for some warm Amish homemade pretzels and a bottle of classic root beer. In the evening, we’d meet up with friends for dinner at Southern Market, soaking in the local flavors and lively atmosphere. To top it all off, we’d catch live music at Tellus360 and grab a late-night snack from Blazin’ J’s before calling it a night.

What does the phrase “Next Generation of Lancaster” mean to you?

To me, it means embracing the responsibility of leading our community into the future while honoring the foundations that were laid before us. It’s about learning from the generations who built Lancaster into what it is today and using that wisdom to create positive change. We are the next generation of doers, thinkers, and community builders. It’s our time to lead with purpose, lift each other up, and keep shaping Lancaster into a place we’re proud to call home.
